It has been an honor to serve as your Sheriff over the past four years. The Sheriff’s Office has made significant progress in keeping our community safe. We increased staffing for patrol, investigations, and support services, which help reduce response times. The Body Worn Camera program was introduced to enhance transparency and accountability while protecting deputies. Investments in tools such as the Grappler have improved our ability to safely apprehend offenders and protect victims. In collaboration with other regional law enforcement partners, we opened the SW Washington Police Academy to raise training standards and efficiency. CCSO also expanded community engagement through public forums, neighborhood outreach, communications, and social media. Even with these improvements, the Sheriff’s Office remains among the lowest-funded agencies in the state based on the officer-to-citizen ratio. Increasing CCSO staffing will remain my top priority. Additional deputies will enable dedicated positions for traffic enforcement, retail theft, major crimes, child victim support, drug investigations, warrants, civil, and evidence units. I ask for your vote to build a safer, stronger community.
