I am married to Eric Holmberg and Mom to three grown children who chose to live in Columbia County. During the last eight years the treasurer’s office has refinanced the public works building loan saving taxpayers $143,000 and provided an online payment platform for property taxes. We were the first county in Washington to launch a platform enabling a link sent by email or text for tax payments. Our property tax collection hovers around 98%. I initiated a fee for delinquent notice mailings so taxpayers who pay on time do not foot the bill. I do my best to put taxpayer money to work. In 2025 investments for departments and districts outside the county general fund earned $616,083 in interest. The general fund earned $184,570. As a member of the Washington State Association of County Treasurers, I served as by-law chair from 2021-2025. I was one of the two county treasurers invited to be part of the Clean Energy Property Tax Impacts Task Force, 2024-2026. As a result, legislation was passed to create a capacity tax which will provide a more stable taxation on clean energy. I am honored for the opportunity to serve as your Treasurer.
