For nearly two decades, I have practiced law throughout Washington as a prosecutor, a defense attorney, and a civil litigator. Since 2022, I have served here in Cowlitz County as a pro tem judge, presiding in District Court as needed. I have six years of prosecution experience, almost entirely in Cowlitz County. I also have over a decade in private practice and taught as an adjunct law professor at Gonzaga Law School.
I have appeared before many fine judges and have seen what works–and what does not. Good judges are firm, fair, patient, and impartial. These traits are not simply ideals; they are indispensable to justice. They are also traits I have developed throughout my career across various roles in and out of the courtroom.
District Court is where most people have their closest contact with the justice system. Everyone who enters that courtroom deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, to be heard, and to receive due process under the law.
As your District Court Judge, I will faithfully and fairly apply the law, protect constitutional rights, and bring accountability with compassion. I would be honored to earn your vote.
