During my time as the previous Deputy Coroner, and the current Elected Coroner, I have been continuously working to improve the now independent coroners’ office. Some improvements include, full in-house transportation of autopsy cases, which allows the county to save tax dollars instead of outsourcing to a third-party. Ordering, maintaining, and improving the tools and supplies that are vital to perform a proper death investigation. Along with orchestrating the setup of tissue and organ donation via Sightlife and LifeNetHealth, which is now in full swing, resulting in an improved quality of life for many. Thanks to the generosity of families going through a tragic loss, that allow their loved ones to help others. If re-elected I intend to continuously improve the coroners’ office so we can continue to conduct thorough death investigations, and serve the Douglas County community in a timely, compassionate, and cost-effective manner.
