Sean P. Lewis
(Prefers Republican Party) statement appears humanWhen this position became vacant last year, I asked the County Commissioners to be considered in order to help facilitate change of a few things I consider important. First, I believed a return to fiscal conservatism was in order. Unnecessary overspending had occurred on the criminal case management side of the office, and I felt that it needed to be more carefully controlled. Second, I believed that the backlog of unprosecuted cases had grown over several years and should be brought under control. To date, my team has eliminated the overspending, and the backlog of unprosecuted cases has significantly diminished. Our next major upgrade to our office will be the conversion to a nearly paperless office. Not all paper can be eliminated, but our goal is to significantly reduce the reliance on paper, thus not just reducing the actual paper use, but more importantly significantly increasing the flexibility of the office and the ability to access files from anywhere there is an online presence. Douglas County is my home, and it is my duty to try to to improve the County daily, sometimes in small ways, sometimes in bigger ways. Thank you for entrusting this important office to me.
