I have dedicated my career to public safety and community service in Douglas County. With nearly twenty years in the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and thirty years in the fire and EMS service, I have built my professional life around serving the citizens and visitors of our county. I currently serve as Sheriff, following my appointment in 2026, and continue my long-standing role as Fire Chief. These positions have given me firsthand experience in emergency response, interagency coordination, and the day-to-day responsibilities of protecting our communities. My commitment to public service extends beyond public safety. I served three terms on the Mansfield School Board, where I worked to support students, staff, and families while helping guide district operations. I have also volunteered with the Sage Advocacy Center and remain active in local youth and community programs. As a fifth-generation Douglas County resident, I understand the values, challenges, and strengths that define our communities. My family has deep roots here, and my wife and children continue to be a source of support and motivation in this work. My focus remains on providing steady, continued leadership grounded in experience, accountability, and service to the people of Douglas County.

I’m running for Sheriff because I’m not interested in maintaining the status quo. I’m committed to moving this agency forward and demonstrating the true potential of your Sheriff’s Office. My priorities are public safety and the protection of your constitutional rights. My approach centers on empowering people, decentralizing leadership, and strengthening community engagement. I am focused on responsive law enforcement, firm and fair crime reduction, improved mental health support, and faster response times. With fresh ideas, proven leadership shaped by global experience, and a fiscally responsible mindset, I believe it’s time for meaningful change that truly serves our entire community. I understand the unique communities that make up Douglas County, and I am committed to working collaboratively to address the issues facing each one. I step into this knowing I cannot do it alone. Our success will come from strengthening the DCSO team and building meaningful relationships throughout the region. I believe in setting realistic goals, operating with transparency, and ensuring that every decision reflects the needs and values of the people we serve. Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more connected Douglas County.
