I grew up in Curlew, WA and graduated from high school in 1993. Outside of school and sports, my days growing up were spent working on a cattle ranch, working at a local restaurant, and swimming in the Kettle River. Since my childhood, I have devoted my entire career to serving the people of both our county and nation. I am not done though. I started my law enforcement career with Ferry County and intend to finish it there.
I am running for Sheriff because I want to help the citizens of Ferry County. There are many different aspects involved, but people feeling secure within their homes and on their property are high on my list of priorities. I will do this with an aggressive approach towards theft and drug abuse. It doesn’t stop there though. I will direct that same energy to all matters concerning the office.
Through transparency, integrity and compassion, I will lead with a fresh set of eyes and a genuine passion for the people of Ferry County.
I am proud to call Ferry County home and I ask for your vote in the upcoming election. Thank you.

During the last twelve years as the Ferry County Sheriff, we’ve seen natural disaster, predator conflict, global pandemic and a time where the relationship between law enforcement and the public has been strained nationwide. Interest in a career in law enforcement statewide is the lowest in the nation, and our county’s inability to allocate funding to attract applicants has created significant challenges in hiring and retention.
We also face new challenges, an outright assault on the rights of the people to elect and retain their Sheriff on their terms (via SB5974). I’m helping lead the fight against these attacks by taking them to court and standing up against this overreach. I’m a working Sheriff who is facing those challenges, unafraid to push back against the state when needed.
I have been a certified Peace Officer in Ferry County for over twenty-five years and am blessed to have served the community where my family has called home for over 100 years. I am a Christian, a husband, a father, a grandfather and a servant who believes in individual liberty and would be honored to continue that service. I humbly ask for your vote.
