Being born and raised right here in Garfield County, I have a deep love for our community and the people who make it special. My wife and I chose to raise our four children here because we believe in the values that define our county - safety, connection, and that small-town spirit that makes this such a great place to call home. Public service runs in my family. My grandpa, William “Bill” Taylor, proudly served as Garfield County Sheriff from 1981 to 1993. His legacy of integrity, fairness, and dedication to the community inspired me to follow in his footsteps and pursue a career in law enforcement. One of the biggest challenges facing our sheriff’s office today is retaining qualified deputies. I believe we can meet that challenge by focusing on opportunities for professional growth, building stronger local recruitment efforts, and creating an environment where law enforcement professionals feel supported and valued. I’m committed to working hard for the people of Garfield County to keep our communities safe, strengthen our sheriff’s office, and ensure that this continues to be a place where families, like mine, can thrive for generations to come.

My name is Calvin Dansereau, and I am honored to be a candidate for Sheriff of Garfield County. I have been passionate about law enforcement for many years, and I am proud to have served our community as both a deputy and undersheriff. With 11 years of management experience, followed by 10 years as a deputy and 7 years as undersheriff, I have the leadership, knowledge, and commitment necessary to serve effectively as your sheriff. I am known for my dedication, integrity, and ability to work as part of a team. If elected, I will lead with accountability and transparency, ensuring these values remain at the forefront of our sheriff’s office. I am committed to building trust, strengthening relationships within our community, and working collaboratively with local government, the justice system, and our public safety partners.
