Statement For · Unnamed committee
statement appears human70% of our population over the age of 65 will require skilled services at some point, whether for rehabilitation, assisted care, dementia support, or long-term care. Passing this bond ensures these vital services remain close to home, keeping patients near their family, friends, and loved ones. This bond will also add essential daycare options for children and elderly respite, where none are otherwise available. Additionally, this project will create jobs, and provide an annual boost of $4.5 million to our local economy. McKay Healthcare has been a responsible steward serving our community since 1938 and has never had a bond increase, despite rising operational costs and increasing patient needs each year. The facility has already proven highly resourceful by pursuing the majority of funding independently. This is a small ask for a major community win; the remaining contribution per resident is minimal compared to the necessary outcome.
