I am seeking election to continue serving as Presiding Judge of the Island County District Court. I have proudly served as your full-time judicial officer since 2018 and was appointed as Presiding Judge in 2024. With more than twenty-eight years of legal experience, I have served as a judge, prosecutor, defense attorney, and civil practitioner. This breadth of experience provides a comprehensive understanding of the legal system and allows me to bring a balanced, thoughtful approach to every civil and criminal case. My judicial philosophy is rooted in fairness, impartiality, and respect for every person who enters the courtroom. I believe justice requires both accountability and understanding. I am committed to ensuring all parties are heard and that decisions are clearly explained, strengthening transparency and public trust. As Presiding Judge, I have worked to expand access to justice by improving online resources, modernizing court operations, and increasing access to court services. I have also designed rehabilitative processes that reduce recidivism while maintaining accountability and protecting public safety. Beyond the courtroom, I remain committed to community engagement through teaching, mentoring students, and working with local organizations. It is an honor to serve Island County, and I respectfully ask for your support.
