Keeping electricity costs low: Under my leadership, electric rates have been kept well below that of our neighboring utilities. Five of my nine years had no general rate increases, and I anticipate no rate increase for 2027. My top priority remains the efficient use of your dollars to ensure reliable electricity and water are provided for the lowest cost. I expect excellent service during storms, prudent investments to minimize outages, preparation for cyber-attacks, and further integration of renewable energy. I am proud our electricity is 97% carbon free. Reducing risk in challenging times: I was a strong advocate for the recent change to our Bonneville Power Administration hydroelectric contract. BPA must now supply enough electricity to meet our needs, eliminating exposure to extreme market prices during regional shortages. I am also a proponent of our 20 year plan to provide for growth with clean energy. Helping Families: I strongly advocate for PUD programs that provide financial assistance for struggling families and seniors. Please join my wife and me in contributing to PUD’s Community Energy Fund, donating each month to help others. Please contact me with questions and suggestions. I work on your behalf and ask for your vote. Thank you.

Working families, seniors and small businesses are struggling to get by with higher prices for gas, groceries, healthcare and housing. Electricity costs shouldn’t be one of those challenges. As your SnoPUD Commissioner, I will keep your energy bills low and your service reliable. I am an experienced leader, able to bring people together, focus on solutions, and achieve results. I’m proudly endorsed by elected Washington State leaders June Robinson, Clyde Shavers, Strom Peterson, April Berg as well as Washington Conservation Action and Snohomish County Democrats. As a social worker, I’ve served some of the most vulnerable in our society. Healthy families and seniors thrive in strong, connected communities. As County Commissioner, I know the fundamentals strong communities are built on: access to affordable and reliable infrastructure as well as housing, healthcare and good jobs. My skills include strong fiscal responsibility, collaboration and leadership. People come first in all my work. Snohomish PUD has taken important steps to energize and protect our communities, but there is more we need to do to address today’s climate and economic challenges. Let’s protect our water and energy resources and grow those investments, building for the future of all of Snohomish County and Camano Island.
