The Court of Appeals is unfamiliar to many voters. But it is a busy court that is responsible for hearing nearly all of the appeals from our superior courts. For most of these litigants, the Court of Appeals is the only opportunity to seek review of their cases. This means the volume is high. The 22 judges of the Court of Appeals decide about 1500 cases per year; each judge decides around 200 cases and individually writes between 60-70 opinions per year. With this heavy case load, I am proud to be one of the two judges representing the six beautiful counties of this district--the counties of the west Puget Sound, the Coast, and the Olympia Peninsula. I am a fifth-generation Washingtonian and life-long resident of this district. And with my 14 years of judicial experience (and well over 30 years of legal experience), I am committed to continuing to decide cases fairly and consistently with the law. I ask for your vote and the opportunity to continue to serve you on the Court of Appeals.
