statement appears partly AII was born and raised in Seattle’s Central District, where I learned the values of hard work, fairness, and service from my parents, who both worked on Boeing’s production line and were proud union members. Those values have guided me throughout my career in public service. After serving for more than 30 years as a public defender, Administrative Law Judge, and Judge Pro Tem at Seattle Municipal Court, I was appointed to the Seattle Municipal Court in 2017 and was honored to be re-elected in 2018 and 2022. As a graduate of Seattle University and Seattle University School of Law, I have remained deeply committed to my alma mater, and currently serve as a member of the Board of Trustees. My commitment to service extends beyond the courtroom. I have been privileged to serve as Chair of the King County Boys & Girls Clubs, as an officer of the Loren Miller Bar Association, as President of the District and Municipal Court Judges Association, and as a member of the Washington Supreme Court’s Gender and Justice Commission. I have also been humbled to receive the Washington State Bar Association Outstanding Judge of the Year Award and the Loren Miller Bar Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Throughout my judicial career, my focus has remained constant: ensuring equal access to justice while treating every person with dignity and respect. As Presiding Judge, I am proud to help launch our Connection Court and expand our Community Resource Center. I believe accountability and compassion are complementary values, and I want every person who enters my courtroom to leave knowing they were seen, heard, and treated with respect. My husband and I are proud to call Seattle home. We enjoy spending time with our daughter, traveling, supporting local philanthropic organizations, and cheering on the Seattle University Redhawks.
