statement appears humanThank you for entrusting me to lead the Department of Elections for the past decade. In that time, we have added more than 80 secure ballot drop boxes, in-person voting centers, election materials in four new languages, ballot alerts, and new layers of physical and cybersecurity. We have also implemented national award-winning programs like the Voter Education Fund, our Civic Engagement Internship, and a robust Bipartisan Observer Program. My parents instilled a sense of responsibility in my sister and me to contribute to our community and serve a greater purpose. In fact, it was when my father was running for Mayor of Enumclaw that I saw and applied for a job at the Department of Elections, twenty-six years ago. I fell in love with the work – ensuring every eligible voter could have their voice heard and working to protect one of our most critical institutions. I remain just as passionate and committed today to improving our voting experience and maintaining a steadfast, transparent, and nonpartisan elections department. From Olympia to D.C., I will continue to advocate to ensure every person has meaningful access to their right to vote. Thank you for voting!
