Dedicated to the efficient administration of justice, Judge Laumann was elected to the King County District Court bench in 2018. She is currently responsible for thousands of civil cases involving our King County residents. In the past 8 years, she handled criminal, small claims, and protection order cases. District Court is the people’s court, where Judge Laumann exercises the principles of integrity, patience, compassion, flexibility and open mindedness. As a member of the civil bench, Judge Laumann communicates with a large number of self represented litigants. She is able to explain complex legal proceedings to litigants in an understandable way and clearly articulate the court rulings, based on her extensive teaching experience. Part of her duties include training pro tempore judges, as well as continuing to teach for the national non-profit, National Institute of Trial Advocacy, supporting lawyers in their goal to be the best advocate for their clients. Judge Laumann holds this office as the highest privilege, serving the citizens of King County for a third term. Committed to creating a diverse judicial bench, Judge Laumann serves on the Court’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and chairs the Small Claims Forms subcommittee. Judge Laumann greatly appreciates your continued support!
