Andrea Samonica Jarmon
statement appears humanI am honored to serve. Courts of limited jurisdiction are the people’s court and often a person’s first introduction to the system–whether there for a criminal case, small claims matter, or a name change. Every person who enters our courtroom deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect. Regardless of the outcome, each person should feel they had the opportunity to have their matter fully, carefully, and fairly considered. My commitment to rendering thoughtful decisions, guided by the law and delivered with compassion, is grounded in the fifteen years of legal experience I bring to this position–experience as a prosecutor, Assistant Attorney General, administrative law judge, and an attorney representing families and individuals in criminal and civil matters. My own life experiences have shaped my belief that our courts must be accessible, accountable, trauma-informed, and human-centered. As your judge, I have reduced my dockets to allow for more meaningful hearings, streamlined pre-trial hearing calendars, expanded the Court’s community engagement efforts, and created civic engagement programs to help introduce young people to careers in the law. I remain committed to increasing access to justice. It would be an honor to continue to serve. I kindly ask for your vote.
