Bardi Martin
statement likely human Unanimously appointed by the King County Council, Judge Bardi Martin proudly serves as your King County District Court Judge, bringing proven courtroom experience, steady judgment, and a lifelong commitment to King County.
Adopted at birth, Bardi was raised by a public-school teacher and a combat-decorated veteran in a multiracial and multiethnic family. A graduate of University of Washington and Seattle University School of Law, Bardi has spent 19 years in our courts. He began as a public defender, built a successful Seattle law practice, and served as a judge pro tempore. Today, Judge Martin presides over civil and criminal matters and Shoreline and Kenmore’s Community Court, which connects individuals charged with low-level offenses to housing, mental health, and substance abuse resources, promoting accountability while reducing repeat offenses.
Judge Martin is endorsed by over 50 judges and earned the sole endorsement of the King County Democrats and The Stranger. As court caseloads skyrocket, experience on the bench matters more than ever. Please vote to retain Judge Bardi Martin–experience you can trust.
Nyjat Rose-Akins
statement appears human Judicial decisions affect individual lives, families, and communities. For 16 years, I have dedicated my career to serving King County with fairness, integrity, and respect.
As an immigrant, I have personally navigated the civil legal system. As an Assistant City Attorney, I advised city leaders on homelessness and police accountability. As a Judge Pro Tem, I have presided over thousands of cases, including protection orders, domestic violence, small claims, and DUIs. As a community advocate, I have visited prisons and served on the boards of legal aid organizations.
Together, these experiences prepared me to make impartial decisions that protect public safety while ensuring fairness. I believe equal justice depends on listening, applying the law fairly, and treating people with dignity and respect. My philosophy is simple: listen first, decide last.
Rated “Exceptionally Well-Qualified” by the Cardozo Society, Joint Asian Judicial Committee, King County, Latino Bar, and Loren Miller Bar associations.
