We value Clyde Hill for its safety, quality of services, and small-town accountability. Rising costs and state limits on revenue growth now constrain the City’s ability to deliver the services we expect. Clyde Hill receives only about 4.5% of your total property tax bill and its city tax rate is among the lowest in the region (Clyde Hill $0.30; Medina $0.59; Bellevue $0.96; Kirkland $0.86 per $1,000 assessed value). Our budget gap cannot be closed by cuts alone. Proposition 1 is a modest revenue solution recommended by the resident-led task force. It increases only the City’s portion of your taxes. All revenue stays in Clyde Hill to support the essential services that make our city the special place we choose to make our home. Ultimately, residents will decide the fate of Clyde Hill. Passing Proposition 1 means we keep our accredited police department and preserve land-use control that protects our neighborhood character and home values. Please vote “Yes” to keep Clyde Hill safe and independent, with its future in the hands of its residents.
