As your Kitsap County Assessor, my mission isn’t to increase county revenue; it’s to ensure that the revenue we do collect is balanced fairly and accurately across every single neighborhood. Outdated assessment models create an unbalanced burden, where working-class neighborhoods often pay more than their fair share while high-value properties lag behind. That is an equity issue. I am running to bring accountability, transparency, and modernization to the Assessor’s office. My platform focuses on utilizing advanced data analytics to correct neighborhood-level imbalances, ensuring no community is overtaxed to compensate for under-assessments elsewhere. Furthermore, I will focus on accessibility by creating user-friendly online tools so every resident can easily understand how their property was valued and navigate the appeals process. This includes expanding direct outreach for seniors, veterans, disabled, and lower-income residents to ensure they are utilizing every tax exemption and deferral program allowed under Washington State law, helping long-term residents stay in their homes. My approach to the Assessor’s office involves ensuring the system is fair, accurate, and transparent. I ask for your vote to bring true balance and fairness to Kitsap County.

Serving as your Kitsap County Assessor for the past 12 years has been an honor. My focus has always been simple: accuracy and transparency in the valuation process, excellent customer service and fiscal responsibility with taxpayer dollars. Throughout my tenure, Kitsap County’s Assessor’s Office has become one of the most efficiently operated offices in Washington State. The office has been recognized by the National Association of Counties for improvements to the Senior/Disabled Exemption application process developed by our team. These workflow improvements have become the recommended best practice by the State of Washington. I believe the office should remain citizen focused by ensuring accuracy, maintaining transparency in the valuation process, adopting new technologies as they become available and providing exceptional customer service. I am proud to have worked with community leaders across the political spectrum throughout Kitsap County and Washington State to deliver practical results for residents. I will continue working to ensure the Assessor’s Office remains effective, accountable, fiscally responsible, and focused on serving all people of Kitsap County. I respectfully ask for your vote.
