I’m running to serve as your Kitsap County Sheriff because I believe public safety is the foundation of a strong community. Our Sheriff’s Office must be properly staffed, supported, and equipped to meet the growing needs of Kitsap County while continuing to provide professional, responsive service to the people who rely on us every day. For more than twenty years, I have worked alongside the dedicated men and women of the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office in Patrol, Support Services, and Investigations. During that time, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges facing law enforcement, including staffing shortages, increasing demands on public safety, and the need to strengthen trust through professionalism, transparency, and accountability. Meeting these challenges requires more than promises. It requires experience, relationships, and responsible leadership. As Sheriff, I will focus on supporting employees, strengthening recruitment and retention, building strong community partnerships, and ensuring the Sheriff’s Office remains focused on its core mission: protecting and serving the people of Kitsap County with professionalism, fairness, teamwork, and integrity.

Our community deserves experienced leadership that will focus on public safety, accountability, and protecting constitutional rights. Like so many in Kitsap, I first arrived here in 1999 through service in the Navy. After retiring, I continued my commitment to service as a Deputy Sheriff. I am married with three children who attended Central Kitsap schools. This county is the foundation of our family. Throughout my career, I’ve led in high-pressure environments where integrity, discipline, and sound decision-making were essential. The Sheriff’s Office must be professional, visible, and responsive. Policing strategies should be guided by evidence-based research and proven results, informed by my graduate education in criminal justice and leadership. Protecting children from exploitation, abuse, and drugs is a top priority. I will aggressively combat the fentanyl crisis through proactive enforcement, strong regional partnerships, and targeted operations against traffickers who destroy families. I will defend individual liberties, protect property rights, support victims, and work relentlessly to reduce crime across Kitsap County. As Sheriff, I will represent all residents in our diverse community. I pledge to keep Kitsap safe while ensuring the Sheriff’s Office remains fully accountable to the people we serve. Let’s work together to build a safer, stronger Kitsap County.
