It has been my pleasure to serve the citizens of Kitsap County for over 35 years as a Deputy Prosecutor and now as a Kitsap County District Court Judge. I have had the good fortune over my career to appear before many outstanding judges, in cases ranging from simple assault and DUI to aggravated murder. I understand what it means to be a fair and unbiased judge and how to listen with understanding and compassion. I served for many years as the Drug Court Prosecutor and was a member of the team that created the Veterans Treatment Court and the Behavioral Health Court. I understand the Therapeutic Court model and the benefits it can have for the participant as well as the community. As a Deputy Prosecutor I trained to be a certified dog handler to bring the first Courthouse Dog, Kerris, to Kitsap County. Her job was to ease the anxiety and trauma experienced by some, often children, needing to appear in court. I am grateful to have been appointed to the bench and will continue to serve with integrity and distinction.
