I have devoted my career to advocating for Kitsap County residents. With over 32 years experience in developing programs and expanding services, conducting community needs assessments, managing projects and ensuring fiscal responsibility. I have the experience to continue to serve as your KPUD Commissioner. Since my appointment last year, I have supported local water infrastructure and conservation projects, improved safe drinking water access, and secured funding to expand high-speed fiber internet in underserved areas. In seeking election, I want to continue this work and ensure fair publicly owned utility rates, equitable broadband access, clean drinking water, wastewater system support, and community education on KPUD’s work. Kitsap County has been my home for over 52 years. As a first-generation college graduate, daughter, mother, grandmother, and spouse of a retired veteran, I understand local needs and am prepared to make informed, timely decisions based on my community-oriented values. I am proudly endorsed by over a dozen current and former elected leaders, the Kitsap County Democrats and 26th Legislative District Democrats, Washington Conservation Action and more. Learn more at smith4kitsap.com. I am honored to serve as your KPUD Commissioner and ask for your vote.
