Mason County Treasurer

I am honored to serve as your appointed Mason County Treasurer and am asking for your vote to continue serving our community with transparency, integrity, and accountability. For 25 years, I have worked in the Treasurer’s Office and have served in multiple roles that provided me with extensive knowledge of county finances, policies and procedures. That experience has prepared me to successfully lead the office while maintaining the high level of service Mason County residents deserve. As Treasurer, my priorities are fiscal responsibility, accuracy, accessibility and excellent customer service. I understand the importance of safeguarding taxpayer dollars while ensuring the office operates efficiently and professionally. I am committed to open communication, strong financial stewardship and treating every citizen with respect and fairness. Mason County deserves experienced leadership and a Treasurer who understands the office from the ground up. Hi everyone – Having retired, I can now devote full attention to upcoming Mason County financial issues, both current, and in the future under several financial and economic scenarios I am a member of the Mason County Planning Advisory Commission, basically defining what we want Mason County to be. Now it is time to quantify these aspirations under several potential scenarios. Characteristics of an actuary include keen analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good business sense. Finance, economics, most of all solid communication skills With upcoming challenges facing us all, my experience in financial forecasting and risk management will be helpful in helping guide Mason County. Examples include efforts to optimize assets vs liabilities and address other future challenges such as inflation. Financial analysis is central to the many challenges faced by Mason County in upcoming years, such as what will be the relationship of revenue vs expenditures going forward as the community grows, and increasing demand for County services. This is not to say I am simply a backroom nerd. On the contrary, I love to collaborate with diverse sets of stakeholders. You are now my most important stakeholder.
