As a life resident of Pend Oreille County and a graduate of Newport High School, my true personal passion and sense of purpose comes from serving God, my family, and our community. My upbringing in the family “service station” (Oldtown Tire and Auto Sales) taught me how to serve and love the people, culture, and geography of this community that we call home. I’ve worked with and for the Pend Oreille County PUD on numerous occasions throughout my adult life. I was hired as a seasonal engineering assistant for PUD while in college. I collaborated with POC PUD on numerous projects (outage announcements, public safety campaigns, public forums, and more) as general manager of KUBS FM. Plus, my involvement with the T.I.P.P. (Teachers Interested in Public Power) Program afforded me the opportunity to comprehensively study and witness the services, functions, history, and organization of POC PUD. Public Utility District #1 of Pend Oreille County has a rich tradition and history of putting the needs of our community and ratepayers first and providing “Quality Service at Low Cost.” My primary focus as your PUD Commissioner will be to ensure that this remains the case for our children, our grandchildren, and beyond.

I will serve with honesty, integrity, and transparency. My leadership, technical, and operations experience–combined with an MBA focused on budgeting and long-range planning–prepare me to make thoughtful, responsible decisions for our utility district. Nearly eight years ago, my family chose Pend Oreille County for our forever home. Since then, I have invested in our community through emergency preparedness, communications, veterans’ organizations, and church leadership. I believe in practical problem-solving, listening to the community, maintaining reliable utility services, planning responsibly for future needs, and keeping rates as affordable as possible. It would be an honor and a privilege to serve the ratepayers of District 2.
