My professional and civic careers have been committed to improving the lives of the people in our community. I’ve been a resident of Pierce County for over 45 years and have called both Gig Harbor and North Tacoma home. I’ve had the honor of serving as a healthcare provider, Council Member, and Pierce County Charter Review Commissioner. On Gig Harbor Council, I supported environmental protections, increased funding for public safety, improved infrastructure, and worked to expand economic opportunity for families and small businesses. As Pierce County Charter Commissioner, I have a deep understanding of our county’s code, how our county government functions, and the ways in which policy impacts people. I’m a respectful, collaborative listener who brings people together to solve the issues most important to you. I’ll prioritize investing in public safety, expanding broadband access, and improving road safety with intentional maintenance. I’ll focus on creating affordable housing while protecting our natural environment, ensuring county regulations are clear and fair for small businesses, and expanding job training and workforce development programs and creating job opportunities. I will ensure that the voice of rural areas is heard, and that every community of District 7 is represented. I am a thoughtful, experienced leader who knows how to move ideas into policy and build partnerships in our district. I’m proud to be endorsed by US Representative Emily Randall, County Councilmember Robyn Denson and County Executive Ryan Mello, and the Pierce County Central Labor Council. I’d be honored to earn your support.

From Longbranch and Gig Harbor, to Ruston and the historic neighborhoods of North Tacoma, each community in District 7 is facing real concerns that deserve attention. In unincorporated communities, residents are raising concerns about public safety, deputy staffing, fair land use policies, and access to county resources. On Fox Island, the failing bridge requires a responsible plan before it becomes even more costly. Across the district, we must protect and preserve our shorelines, docks, and swimming areas of Puget Sound, while addressing double-layered taxes, rising county costs, aging infrastructure, and many other concerns that require real action. I’m not a career politician. I’m a 27-year law enforcement professional and public servant who spent six years at the negotiating table fighting for and winning fair police labor union contracts. That negotiating experience is what Pierce County needs right now. I am going to be laser focused on making sure that our District has the fiscal accountability, public safety and reasonable growth standards that we deserve and are not receiving. I will be a strong voice for you and a protector for every man, woman and child I represent. If you believe Pierce County deserves reasonableness, common sense, and a leader who listens and acts, then I ask for your vote. It would be my honor to serve you. Mike Solan. Husband. Father. Leader.
