For the past 16 years, Judge Claire Sussman has earned an exceptional reputation for her integrity, fairness, and dedication to the law. She ensures that people have a meaningful opportunity to be heard. We can trust Judge Sussman to continue to make fair and firm decisions that help keep our community safe. Judge Sussman currently serves as the Presiding Judge for District Court, leading the Court to fulfill its strategic priorities. Previously, Judge Sussman presided over the Court’s Domestic Violence caseload. She was also instrumental in the development of the Court’s first Veterans Treatment Court, addressing the root causes of behavior while connecting veterans to VA services. Judge Sussman has volunteered for many community organizations, including: Paint Tacoma Beautiful, YMCA Mock Trial, and Minority Bar Youth Law Forum.
