As a Deputy Prosecutor for 32 years under 5 prosecutors, I worked to protect the citizens of Skagit County and support efficient local government. The Prosecutor’s Office strives to protect victims and the community by holding offenders responsible, especially violent offenders. We balance the interests of victims and the community with compassionate accountability, recognizing the effects of drug use and mental illness. We are guided by “truth, equity and justice.” For 25 years, I prosecuted criminal trials and briefed hundreds of appellate cases including multiple homicide cases. I moved to the civil division striving to provide prompt legal advice on numerous issues affecting the county. I helped develop policies to improve efficiency, defended the county in numerous lawsuits and defeated those improperly seeking to undermine county officials. I have strived to be open and direct, making decisions based upon all the evidence, and be an example of professionalism. I am ready to take my experience and relationships I have developed to lead for the future. I raised my family here and will work hard to help Skagit County be an amazing and safe place for all residents to live, work, play and thrive. I respectfully ask for your vote.
