Skagit County Sheriff

It has been a privilege to serve my community for 32 years as your current Skagit County Chief of Field Operations. This dedication drives my desire to become your next Sheriff. I believe in practical, common-sense leadership that involves listening to our community, supporting staff, and making decisions based on experience and integrity rather than politics. As your Sheriff, my responsibility is to every resident and visitor of Skagit County. I envision fostering a culture of accountability, honesty, and integrity within the ranks that extends into our community. That’s how public service should function. My priorities remain: Strengthening public safety while respecting the rights and dignity of every individual; Supporting and retaining well-trained deputies and staff; Expanding partnerships with local agencies and organizations; Addressing crime proactively; Ensuring transparency and responsible use of tax dollars. Everyone interacting with the Sheriff’s Office deserves dignity and fairness. We must serve all individuals equally, regardless of their background, disability or circumstances. Our badge represents our dedication to service and equality for all. These values will guide my decisions as your sheriff. I am a Christian, a sworn defender of the U.S. Constitution, and a U.S. Navy veteran. I’m also a father of three daughters and a college graduate–and I’m running as a change-in-leadership candidate, not someone who has been part of the current problems in the Sheriff’s Office. I understand what’s at stake for taxpayers, Citizens, and families living in Skagit County. I have proven experience confronting the misuse of public funds that has fueled the worst public corruption our county has ever seen, restoring election integrity, and fighting against lawyers and judges who violate the Constitution. I bring real experience defending civil rights, and reporting millions of dollars of waste, fraud, and abuse in government for those who want transparency and consequences. As an independent investigator, my work has taken me through the Washington Superior Court, the State Supreme Court, the federal U.S. district court, and coordination with the Washington State Patrol, U.S. Department of Justice, FBI, U.S. Marshals, and the U.S. Attorney’s office. I place resident’s rights over protecting government every time. Constitutional rights must be defended. I’m asking for your support to bring accountability and law and order back to Skagit County.
