Jennifer Millett

statement appears human

Judge Jennifer Millett has spent her 24-year legal career serving Snohomish County as a judge and prosecuting attorney. She has been instrumental in the development of alternative court programs in both the District and Municipal Courts , seeking to reverse the cycle of criminal recidivism while still holding defendants accountable to the community and building a healthy, safe community. Judge Millett is committed to creating a welcoming environment in her courtroom for all members of the community. She believes strongly that real access to justice begins when crime victims, witnesses, law enforcement, attorneys and defendants are treated with respect and dignity and given an equal opportunity to participate in the justice system. A lifelong Washington resident, Judge Millett grew up in a working-class family in Spokane, putting herself through college and law school at Gonzaga University, before relocating to Snohomish County with her husband, a 22-year Navy Veteran and investigator with the Attorney General’s Office. They have raised 3 children here, are active in the Gold Creek Community Church, and are avid supporters of youth sports and the arts. Endorsements: Snohomish County Democrats; National Women’s Political Caucus of Washington; International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM 751)
