Growing up in a working-class family, my dad a carpenter and mom a school lunch lady, laid the groundwork for my strong commitment to hard work and delivering for the people I serve. With costs of housing, childcare, and other basics stretching family budgets and forcing impossible choices, we need leaders who get it– and will fight for the changes we need. I’m a passionate voice in Olympia for affordable housing, and won resources for hundreds of units in our region for working families, vulnerable adults, and seniors. I’ve demanded more housing near growing light rail and transit to improve mobility and reduce transportation costs. I chair the committee creating thousands of jobs fixing our roads, bridges, and infrastructure. This year I voted to reduce taxes for small businesses, provide relief through the working family tax credit, and expand access to affordable childcare. I’m committed to protecting our economy and families from dangerous federal policies that harm jobs and drive up consumer prices. My advocacy for our families and communities, including LGBTQ+ and immigrant neighbors, is endorsed by WA State Labor Council, SEIU, Conservation Action, Nurses, Firefighters, elected leaders and more.
