Jeffrey D. Goodwin

statement appears human

Judge Goodwin was unanimously appointed by the Snohomish County Council to his position on the District Court in 2004 and has been re-elected six times. He has twice served as Presiding Judge for the District Court and is the President of the statewide District and Municipal Court Judges Association. He believes that in the District Court, judges have the opportunity to make an impact on public trust in the judicial system, and that without trust, the system ceases to function as a critical component of our society. He believes that when litigants leave the courtroom with the belief that they were heard, and they understand why a decision was made, confidence and trust in the judicial system increases. His path of public service has instilled in him the belief that everyone appearing in his courtroom should be treated with dignity and respect. For 22 years, this has been the approach he takes to his work as a judge. Judge Goodwin lives in Bothell with his wife. Endorsed by the Snohomish County Democrats and by Republicans throughout the County; International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers (IAM 751); Judges, Prosecutors and Defense Attorneys throughout Snohomish County.
