Snohomish County Fire District 10 and Bothell have seen a very large population growth. Despite that growth, especially in the last twenty years, the Bothell Fire Department and FD10 have remained relatively static in the size of the department and number of stations that serve our growing area. Annexation into the Shoreline Regional Fire Authority is an opportunity to build on the outstanding service our firefighters already provide while ensuring those services remain strong, sustainable, and responsive for decades to come. Regional fire service is the standard model throughout King and Snohomish counties. By joining the Shoreline Regional Fire Authority, FD10 would become part of a larger organization that can share resources, coordinate personnel, expand specialized capabilities, and improve operational efficiency. A larger regional organization also provides firefighters with expanded training, career development, and specialized response opportunities, helping attract and retain highly qualified professionals. These investments benefit the community by strengthening the workforce that responds to every fire, medical emergency, rescue, and disaster while improving the region’s ability to meet future public safety challenges. A “Yes” vote supports a collaborative, forward-looking approach to public safety that will help preserve the exceptional emergency services Bothell residents rely on today while preparing the community to meet the needs of tomorrow. Let’s prioritize safety and stability for FD10 residents. Vote “Yes” on Prop 1 to annex into the Shoreline RFA, to secure permanent, reliable funding for emergency services.
