Being a good steward of your tax dollars means focusing on efficiency and accountability in all levels of county operations. Employee turnover is costly, and I believe in providing competitive pay and benefits to attract and retain quality county employees who are willing to work alongside our excellent teams, maintaining high standards, building a healthy work culture of service, while continuing to develop their valuable skills and experience to serve us for years. During 35+ years of local service I have managed many incidents and helped, literally, thousands of people. This unique experience gives me insight into the issues that are important in our local culture. I have always worked well with my community and many other agencies that include tribal, county, state and federal entities. My future goals are to see current projects through completion, work alongside other counties resisting overregulation, work with neighboring counties promoting efficiency, developing economic prosperity in Northeast Washington, and to continue working with our Legislative Representatives and regional Sheriffs to fight unconstitutional legislation from the State. Raised in a God-fearing farming and ranching family, I place a very high value on protecting private property rights and other inalienable God-given rights we enjoy as Americans.

I decided to run because I want to do something good for this community, after leaving my last professional position and before retiring, this felt like the right opportunity. My family has always been in Valley, and now I’m back here for good, after 40 years working for large organizations across the country. I believe in being an active participant in visible, positive change, and in accountability. Over the course of my career I’ve been able to accomplish a great deal with limited resources, and I know Stevens County could use that kind of experience right now. This office is a good fit for what I bring to the table, and I’m not afraid of hard work. I will be diligent and dedicated to meeting the needs of every resident, because this is my home too. I thank you for your vote. I look forward to serving as your Commissioner for the next six years of our lives. I hope to hear from you.
