Tye Menser
(Prefers Democratic Party) statement appears humanI’ve been honored to serve the people of Thurston County for the last 7+ years. I’ve worked hard to advance our community’s priorities while navigating tremendous changes, and I am proud of what I have accomplished. In housing, I helped form the Regional Housing Council, pass a county-wide Home Fund, and get several new permanent supportive housing projects off the ground. In criminal justice, we opened and grew a County Resource Hub, filled gaps in our jail diversion framework, and re-launched the LEAD program to get people to needed services, not incarceration. For the environment, I fought to establish a County climate program, increased buffers to accelerate salmon recovery, and led the effort to preserve Thurston County’s oldest patches of forest. There is much more to accomplish. I am helping to lead efforts to create a unified County campus for justice and administration. I have a goal of creating a county-wide regional jail that would unify the cities and enhance rehabilitation and re-entry programs. And, of course, we must continue to resist the federal effort to impose authoritarian values over our community’s values. I ask for your vote to continue this work.
