Like so many of you, I’m deeply concerned about issues facing Thurston County. Commissioner scandals broke public trust. $20–$30 million deficits are forcing painful cuts to essential services. A decade of candidates that have promised solutions to homelessness, rising costs, and public safety and yet we’ve seen almost no real progress. As a member of the Lacey City Council, Regional Housing Council, and non-profit founder of We Heart Olympia I’ve worked across party divides to deliver real solutions to real problems. It’s time to move beyond political fighting and unite around practical solutions that improve safety, affordability, opportunity, and transparency for everyone in Thurston County. As a small business owner, I received the South Sound Best Place to Work and Business of the Year awards in 2025. I hear the same priorities and frustrations from state employees, police officers, firefighters, military, veterans, and neighbors from every background in our community. I will bring the same leadership to the county that builds trust between the county staff, elected officials, and the public. Campaign Finance Note: We have rejected all funding from special interest groups and political action committees and I’m endorsed by over 600 individuals & businesses representing every party.

As a U.S. Army veteran, nonprofit leader, family business manager, and your County Commissioner, I believe government must be transparent, fiscally responsible, and accountable. When decisions affect your life, you deserve clear information and a seat at the table. That’s why I voted against a county budget process that bypassed community input while cutting staff and domestic violence navigation services. In my first term, I have fought for results. As Chair of the Regional Housing Council, I oversaw approval of $25 million for affordable housing, including 186 new supportive units to prevent homelessness. I will continue prioritizing affordability at all income levels. I have championed environmental investments that improve daily life for working families, including discounted heat pump upgrades and $7.6 million for the Deschutes Estuary restoration. From cleaner air to data-driven public safety, I pursue measurable, meaningful change. Strong communities are built through responsible budgeting, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, and public safety. That’s why I build coalitions across neighborhoods, industries, and backgrounds: because lasting solutions require everyone at the table. Together, we can continue building a Thurston County that is truly by and for the people. Endorsed by city and county officials, labor, and more. clouseforcommissioner.com
