Christy Peters
(Prefers Democratic Party) statement appears humanAs chief of staff for the Thurston County Prosecutor’s Office–the first woman to hold that role–and a longtime deputy prosecutor, I’ve tried and won some of the toughest felony cases, led important reforms and helped manage a 90+ employee law firm. Throughout my career, I’ve prosecuted challenging aggravated murder, sexual assault and child abuse cases, collaborated to expand therapeutic Drug, Veterans and Mental Health Courts to reduce repeat crime, been a founding member of the Monarch Children’s Justice and Advocacy Center, helped launch the Thurston County Family Justice Center to support domestic violence survivors and built a strong training pipeline for law clerks and legal interns, mentoring over 100 future legal professionals at the Thurston County PAO. A dedicated wife and mom of three, I’ve served in a variety of community leadership roles to help Thurston County’s children and families thrive. As your next Thurston County prosecutor, I commit to prioritizing violent crime and crimes against children while strengthening victim advocacy, supporting law enforcement partnerships and expanding smart, evidence-based solutions that reduce repeat offenses, leading with accessible transparency and accountability, and developing the next generation of law and justice. I’m ready to lead on day one.
