My experience serving Walla Walla County has distinctly qualified me to serve the County as its part time judge. The judge must be familiar with the laws and procedures involving criminal matters, civil protection order petitions, and civil infractions. I have served Walla Walla County as both a prosecutor and a court-appointed defense attorney. I have addressed motions in district court, superior court, and the court of appeals involving complex issues concerning searches, seizures, and the admissibility of evidence. I have tried matters including DUI, reckless driving, poaching, and property crimes in district court, and drug crimes and violent matters in superior court. Additionally, I have represented clients pursuing and defending against protection orders. Thus, I am familiar with every aspect of protection orders, from civil inception to criminal resolution. The district court judge also must be familiar with the laws involving searches due to the obligation of reviewing and authorizing search warrants. As a prosecutor, I not only defended against motions attacking search warrants, but I also provided assistance in reviewing warrants before they were submitted to the judge. I pledge to use my abilities to continue to serve the community, and I ask for your vote.
