I have called Whitman County home for almost 30 years, and I quickly became part of its close-knit communities. As your County Assessor, I focus on making sure property assessments are accurate and transparent, so taxes are fair and people can trust the process. By updating assessment ratios to meet state requirements, we make sure taxes are fair for everyone and support our community’s needs. For you, this means property tax values are more in line with today’s market. These updates help everyone pay their fair share, which supports our schools, emergency services, and local infrastructure. With over four years in this role, I manage the yearly review of more than 40,000 tax parcels and run property tax programs. I have worked to modernize our property records and have started outreach efforts to help people understand their assessments and determine whether they qualify for tax relief. In Whitman County, important tax relief programs include exemptions for seniors, people with disabilities, and qualifying veterans. You can find more information on our office website, or contact us by phone, email, or in person if you have questions. I am committed to ensuring our property tax system complies with Washington state law.
