Committee: Committee for Great Schools

Cheney School District is asking the voters to support the Replacement Capital Levy on November 3rd, 2026 and I urge you to vote “yes” in support of this levy. All students deserve access to a quality education, regardless of background or family income. Vote Yes to renew the technology, security and infrastructure levy. This is a replacement levy, not a new tax. Preparing students to succeed after graduation requires access to modern technology. Technology funds include critical technology infrastructure such as digital whiteboards, and training to help students excel. Proposition 2 also funds critical facility maintenance, including code compliance; improvements such as roof repairs, HVAC, fire alarms systems; and health, safety and security upgrades across the district. Safety and security improvements such as security cameras, access controls, and door locks help keep our students and staff safe. Failure to pass Proposition 2 would result in deferred maintenance and would only cost more money down the road. This is a fiscally responsible measure to protect our investments in our schools. Renewing this levy keeps our students warm, dry, and safe and provides necessary technology leading to improved student learning and success. Let’s renew our commitment and vote to approve the Replacement Capital Levy for critical technology, security for our schools, and building maintenance.
